ok i know we have both at my school but like the counselor at my school came to our health class and said we can come to her for “personal issues” whenever we want but i’ve heard nothing of the school psychologist, i just know we have one….i dont think we’re just allowed to go there tho…

does the counselor send you to the psychologist if she thinks you have like really severe problems?

What differentiates the two is simply the level of education they’ve completed. Yes, the psychologist will deal with more serious problems while the counselor will kind of be like that friend who listens to all of your “boy issues”.

aren’t they just the same? anyways the term psychologist does sound more professional.

The psychologist has a degree, a counselor however just needs a blue card.

A counselor is there to talk you through the tough times and help you out with decision making processes, such as university/college directions, your school attitudes etc etc.

A psychologist is normally there to evaluate you as a person, your mental mind set, your tendencies, the way you think, not to be your friend and from there take a course of action against you or for you.

Hope that helps.
