MsLeo asked:

Where is the best place to live in Florida if you have school age kids? Is Orlando a good choice?

Seminole county is a fantastic school district. I went to schools in north Orlando (Altamonte Springs area), which is a great area to live.

Doesn’t it really depend on how you define “best”? Are you talking about the safest? the highest rated academically? the newest schools? the best athletic programs? public vs private?

I would say most of the school districts in Florida are subpar. Since there are so few school districts in the entire state (67, compared to over 500 in Pennsylvania and over 600 in New Jersey) they don’t have to compete with each other by being the best to attract residents.

BREVARD COUNTY! BABY!

I agree Brevard county is #1!! Plus it is the space coast. Tons to do and nice places to live. Beaches are nearby, Kennedy space center, Cocoa beach, Indian river lagoon, Sebation Inlet. Even living in southern brevard you are only about 11/2 hours from all the attractions and the air port.
I live in Palm Bay and my children go to a public school. Awesome Principal and great, caring teachers. If you have any questions e-mail me. I can tell you more about it.
