I was horrified and fascinated. My heart broke a hundred times for EVERYONE in this film. I cannot imagine how difficult it must be, living a life like this. I humbly admit that I will never see Cirque du Soleil the same…that such beauty comes from tremendously undignified shame and humiliation is really upsetting. I wish I could have seen footage of the kids’ lives and their perspectives…this film was a bit lopsided in that regard…very provocative.
Yes,they may accomplished something entertaining or spectacular but the way you trained them is very traumatic to children.You apply scare tactics discipline which very emotional painful to child.
These kids do not look like they’re enjoying it.

Some things in life and on this planet are simply wrong. It is horrific to suggest or accept that the intentional and systematic abuse of children has anything whatsoever to do with ‘culture’ when in reality it has everything to do with ignorance, greed, and profit.
The chinese treat these kids like animals to gain their own praise. The parents are stupid to let their kids go to a school like this and undergo pain and humiliation. Thanks God i live in the usa and not in communist china

This is horrible, I understand their culture is different and I understand that without pain there’s no gain…..but that uncle in a total ***! They’re so cruel to these kids…..
chinese culture is very different, it may seem like they’re being hard on them, by Western standards, but working as a group, a collection of performers, they strive for the best and what is right for the reputation of the group.
plus, to be able to flex and bend that much, no pain no gain…they’re perfectly all right
I really hope these kids succeed big in their life and when they train, maybe, be easy on the kids they will train oneday.
I do understand, to succeed, it takes sacrifices, discipline, and yes, it can be brutal, but watching this video reallly made me cringe seeing kids cry and talked that way.
But also, culture is different there as it is everywhere. Still, I really hope these kids succeed and remember how they were taught, to maybe be a little easy on their own students with the words.
2 kilos is 4.4 lbs… It is ridiculous for them to scold him like that, if the kids eating its because he needs to eat, but still, he would have practically needed to gorge himself to gain that much weight that quickly.
I am deeply distrubed by this video, the way the uncle talks about the boy is disgusting and the bit where they are making him stretch is just plain abuse. The way he is eating sounds borderline bulimia and who would blame him! Children are a gift not a right, these people shouldn’t be parents if all they want to do is farm their kids off to make money for them, disgusting ! If people want to be successful then awesome and yes it takes gutts and hardwork, but cruelty isn’t the way.

It looks like the instructors could be more supportive, but as for the training, It takes sacrifice to achieve greatness. Hugs and snacks are not going to motivate. Probably hard to understand for those whose greatest achievement is sitting on their rear commenting on youtube videos.
also when these teachers and that kids “uncle” is calling his parents dumb cause theyre mute and when they do things like that **** me off. he is very talented and for them to just always put him down is not healthy. he’s hungry cause he’s a growing kid. duh.
