School hours do not change based on region in Japan. Japan has unified education in the entire nation.
Usually schools start around 8am and kids leave around 2pm. So they stay at school about 6 hours.

While those are official hours, many people either stay after for additional activities, or go to cram school to study for high school entrance examinations.
