school
hyphy_masta asked:

I have a 3.9 GPA, early to mid 600’s on my SAT’s, and outside of school I program websites (I have three websites online), and go to a Psychology class. My school is an alternative program, where we must complete 6 “Passages” (Year long projects that relate to what we are interested in) by the time we graduate. For example, one of the passages I have completed is writing a screenplay, and then filming the movie. I have worked for a summer at a deli, and have over 100 hours of community service from volunteering as a ticket taker at my small town’s (480 people) local theater. I should also probably say that I do two electives. (One is a Juggling class, and another is creative writing). All I want to know is what would be the best choice for safety schools that are preferably located in big cities? Thanks.

This is a fairly unusual “resume.” You don’t say where you live, or provide any insight into finances.

I’d suggest you go to and and use their online tools to help narrow down your search. Your question is way too broad for us to really help.

If you indicated your “reach” schools, maybe we could provide “safeties.”

Unless you have a rigorous college prep curriculum with four years of math and science, at least 2 years of a foreign language, and some AP, IB or other honors classes for good measure, you shouldn’t get too over-confident with your 3.9 GPA. Colleges know how to recalculate them in order to make comparisons between high school programs. Median SAT scores for Ivy League applicants is in the mid 700s.
