Helen M asked:

Because of school budgets being reduced in California, the nearby elementary school has been closed and a contiuation high school is moving into the grounds. The house overlooks the school yard. Sometimes kids at continuation high school have a reputation for being a “rough crowd”. Could this negatively affect the value of this house?
We are about to go into escrow on a house. The backyard looks over the new site for a continuation high school. There is a back entrance to the school yard that opens up to a pathway by this home. The main entrance to the school is blocks away from the house. Nevertheless, should be we concerned about a “tough crowd” in the neighborhood. Will this reduce the value of the home?
